For this year’s calendar we see the return of the Sandhill Cranes, a Pileated Woodpecker, River Otters and a Beaver. Appearing for the first time we have a Northern Harrier - female for October and a male on the back cover. Yellow-headed Blackbird, MacGillivray’s Warbler, American Bittern and Night Heron are also first time participants.
Then there were the owls – two new species and one other with first time young (first for me not the owls), but the Barred Owls in Stanley Park apparently raised no young.
Ten years on and I finally noticed the typo in the back cover!
